How to link your home battery to the Fig app
Linking your battery lets Figgy see how it’s performing and manage when it charges and discharges — so you get the most out of every kilowatt. It takes about five minutes, and we explain each detail right where you need it.
Before you begin
Have these ready and you won’t need to stop halfway.
The Fig Energy app, with your account already set up.
Your iGE login (email and password) — the battery account you set up when your system was installed. This is not your Fig login.
A few numbers from your battery spec sheet and your solar invoice or inverter label. We point you to each one as you go.
Step by step
Nine screens, from an empty Devices tab to a connected battery.
1
In the Fig app, tap Devices at the bottom, then tap + Link Power Station.
If nothing’s linked yet you’ll see “No data yet” — that’s expected.
2
You'll see the Terms & Conditions – Market Retail Contract. Have a read, then continue to accept and move on.
3
On the Connect your battery screen, tap Choose a type under Site type, then pick the household closest to yours. This just gives Figgy a sensible starting point for your daily usage — you can change it any time.
Low through the day, concentrated evening peak
Family baseline plus EV charging, overnight and daytime
High evening and late night, highest total use
Morning and evening peaks, lower midday
High base load, highest total use
Home all day, fairly flat curve
Occupants out of sync, flattest curve
Morning rush, concentrated early evening
Pick the pattern closest to your home. None of them exactly? Choose the nearest — Figgy fine-tunes to your real usage over the first week or so.
4
Back on the same screen, fill in the rest. Your account and network details are already verified, so this is just about your equipment:
How your battery is wired to your solar. It's on your battery spec sheet. Not sure? Choose DC — it's the most common, and you can change it later.
The size of your solar system. Find it on your inverter label or your solar invoice.
Your battery's usable capacity, from its spec sheet.
How much power your battery can push in or out at once. Also on the battery spec sheet.
The postcode where the battery is installed.
kW vs kWh? kW (kilowatts) is power — how fast energy flows, like speed. kWh (kilowatt-hours) is energy — how much your battery holds, like the size of the tank.
5
When your details are in, tap Authorise device ou'll be taken to iGE to sign in — this is the platform that talks to your battery.
6
Enter the email and password for your iGE account, then tap Login & Authorize.
Remember: this is your battery account login, not your Fig login.
7
You'll see an authorisation request to access your iGE Cloud Platform. Confirming it lets Fig read your battery's information and history, and manage its charge and discharge strategy so Figgy can optimise it for you. Tap Confirm Authorization.
8
You'll see "Authorisation successful — your battery is now connected." You can close that page.
9
Back on the Devices tab, your battery now appears with its charge level, capacity, and whether it's charging or discharging — along with "Figgy is optimising your device right now." That's it, you're linked.
Fig only reads your battery's data and sets its charge and discharge strategy — the everyday work Figgy does to lower your bill. You stay in control, and you can unlink your battery at any time from the Devices tab.
If you've recently moved to Fig, your previous retailer's app may keep showing usage data for a little while — this is completely normal. Energy settlement data takes a few days to catch up, so your old app or your final bill can briefly lag behind. Both will update to reflect your correct switch-over date within a few days, and there's nothing you need to do.
