Battery as a Service — Launch Offer Terms & Conditions

Effective 01/07/2026 · Victoria, Australia

1. About this offer

This offer (the “Offer”) is promoted by Fig Energy (ABN 13 688 813 354) (“Fig”, “we”, “us”). The battery is provided by GreenESS (ABN 61 667 664 075), Fig’s parent company, under a separate Battery as a Service Agreement. By registering for or taking up the Offer, you agree to these terms.

2. Offer period & availability

The Offer is available to a limited number of eligible homes — up to 200 across Victoria — from the launch date until the earlier of the closing date we publish and the date all systems are allocated. We may extend, vary, pause or withdraw the Offer at any time before you enter a Battery as a Service Agreement.

3. Who can take it up

To be eligible you must:

• be located in Victoria, within 50 km of the Melbourne CBD, and own or occupy the premises (or have the right to have a battery installed there);

• have working rooftop solar already installed at the premises;

• not already have a home battery installed at the premises;

• have a premises we assess as suitable for installation (we may decline unsuitable sites);

• be on, or sign up to, an eligible Fig Energy electricity plan and stay on one to keep using the battery service; and

• provide any consents we reasonably need (for example from an owner, body corporate, mortgagee or your network).

Limit of one battery system per eligible premises.

4. What you get

A GreenESS Greenvolt Pro battery — 24.5 kWh of storage with a 5 kW inverter — installed at your premises and provided to you as a managed service by GreenESS. The battery hardware is provided at $0.

5. What you pay

You pay:

• installation — a standard installation by GreenESS is $1,800. It covers the physical work of installing and connecting the battery and is not a charge for the battery. What a standard installation includes, and when extra work may be quoted, is set out in clause 6;

• the Figgy service at $19.90 per month; and

• your usual Fig Energy electricity charges.

You pay nothing for the battery hardware itself, or for its servicing or replacement. If you later choose to return the battery before it becomes yours, a $900 removal fee may apply (see clause 9).

Why these fees exist. Installation and the removal fee are real electrician costs — not charges for the battery, and not penalties for leaving. Installing or removing a battery is licensed electrical work with genuine labour and materials cost.

6. Standard installation

A standard installation is a straightforward install at a typical single dwelling. For $1,800, GreenESS provides:

• delivery, mounting and connection of the battery and inverter at a suitable, ready location within about 3 metres of your main switchboard;

• standard cabling and connection to a compatible single-phase switchboard that is in sound condition;

• the usual electrical protection, isolation, testing and commissioning, carried out by licensed electricians to Energy Safe Victoria standards; and

• the standard network (distributor) application and paperwork.

A standard installation assumes safe, ready access to the install location and a premises within 50 km of the Melbourne CBD (see clause 3).

Some sites need extra work that is not part of a standard installation — for example a switchboard or meter upgrade, three-phase work, long cable runs or trenching, wall reinforcement or non-standard mounting, scaffolding or difficult access, asbestos handling, or remedial electrical work to bring the site up to standard. Where extra work is needed, GreenESS will assess your site and give you a quote for any additional cost before any work starts, so you can decide before you commit.

7. It’s a service, not a sale

The battery is provided as a managed service, not sold to you up front. GreenESS owns the battery until ownership passes to you under clause 10 or clause 11. While you’re on an eligible Fig plan, GreenESS looks after it — including warranty, servicing and replacement — at no hardware cost to you.

8. What we do for you

For as long as you’re on an eligible Fig plan, and for up to 10 years, we will warrant, service and maintain the battery, repair it if it’s faulty, and replace it if it can’t be repaired — at no hardware cost to you (other than damage caused by misuse). GreenESS installs the battery using licensed electricians to Energy Safe Victoria standards.

The 10-year manufacturer warranty stays with the battery even if ownership passes to you. If you’re still on an eligible Fig plan at the 10-year mark, you’re entitled to a Refresh — a replacement unit — so your storage keeps performing.

9. No lock-in — and what happens if you leave

There’s no lock-in and no minimum term. You can switch retailer or leave your Fig plan at any time, with no exit or termination penalty for leaving. When you stop being on an eligible Fig plan, within 30 days you choose one of:

• Buy the battery at its then value under the buy-out schedule in the Battery as a Service Agreement — a price that reduces the longer you’ve had it (see clause 10); or

• Return it — pay the $900 removal fee and we’ll safely disconnect and collect the battery; or

• Keep it free — if the battery has already become yours (see clause 11), it’s simply yours, with nothing to pay and no removal fee.

10. Buying the battery — the buy-out value

If you choose to buy the battery, the price is the buy-out value set out in the Battery as a Service Agreement, which reduces the longer you’ve had the battery:

• through the first three years it reduces each month;

• it then holds steady across years 3 to 5; and

• from about five years it reaches $0 — the battery becomes yours free (see clause 11).

As a guide: leaving after one year, the buy-out is about $3,420; after four years it’s $1,500; and staying about five and a half years, it’s free, with the warranty intact. The full schedule is in the Agreement, which prevails.

11. The battery becomes yours after about five years

Once the buy-out value reaches $0 — from about five years — ownership of the battery transfers to you automatically and at no charge, whether you stay with Fig or leave. No removal fee applies, and any security interest is released. If you stay on an eligible plan, the service (including the Refresh at 10 years) continues.

12. Savings and results

Any savings, credits or earnings figures we show — including results from our pilot — are examples of past outcomes for particular homes and are not a promise or forecast. Your results depend on your home, energy use, solar, tariff and how you use the system.

13. Your consumer rights

Nothing in the Offer excludes, restricts or modifies any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees. Those guarantees apply to the battery and its installation even though the battery is provided to you at $0.

14. If you sell or move home

Tell us at least 30 days before you sell or move out. Your options — the incoming owner taking over, you buying the battery, or us collecting it — are set out in the Battery as a Service Agreement.

15. Rights

If you don’t or can’t join Fig Energy
This Offer depends on you taking up and holding an eligible Fig Energy electricity plan. We reserve the right to cancel or withdraw the Offer if you do not sign up to an eligible Fig Energy plan, or are unable to do so — for example, if your transfer to Fig Energy cannot be completed for any reason.

If we cancel the Offer before your battery is installed, no battery will be provided and you will not be charged. If your Fig Energy plan does not go ahead after a battery has already been installed, what happens to the battery is dealt with in your Battery as a Service Agreement and clause 8 above.

16. Privacy

We collect and use your information, including battery performance and energy-usage data needed to run the service, in line with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Because your plan (with Fig) and your battery service (with GreenESS) work together, you consent to Fig and GreenESS sharing limited information with each other: Fig may confirm to GreenESS that you’re on an eligible plan, and GreenESS may tell Fig the status of your battery. This is used to run your service, not sold to anyone else.

17. Changes to the Offer

We may vary or withdraw the Offer at any time before you enter a Battery as a Service Agreement. Once you’ve signed, changes to your service are governed by that Agreement and applicable law.

18. The Agreement governs

These terms are a summary only. The Battery as a Service Agreement (with GreenESS) and your Fig Energy plan terms contain the full terms and prevail to the extent of any inconsistency with this page.

19. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If you have a concern we can’t resolve, you can also contact the Energy and Water Ombudsman (Victoria).
